The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

So... this wasn't a very... interesting Journal, was it? Okay so like... I've been tkaing my friend's cellphones whenever I can and opening up their camera and taking pictures of my eyes on their phone... and then after I take the picture, I set it as their wallpaper so that everytime they open their phones, it's like I'm looking at them >D ... I think I've already done it to mostly everyone I know~ so I'm done with this joke XD

A good trick to play on friends is to hide in their car when you know that they are about to get in it and drive away. Hide at the feet of the back seats and wait until they've started driving away before revealing yourself. Don't startle them too much or you may crash. (works best at night and doesn't work when lots of people are travelling together)

Also, sneaking up behind people has gone out of fashion but is still very fun. This joke only gets old if you continuosly rub it in afterward.
