In short: Yes, I will still be attending London MCM Expo in May. And (I think) I have a table in LA Anime Expo's Artist Alley in June.

I say "I think" for Anime Expo because they took me off wait list and I paid for the table, but I'm not sure if that means it's a 100% thing ; ( I still have no idea what I'm doing, can you tell? ) I guess we'll see when the seating assignments come out in June.

I'm going to be on a short vacation from May 27 to June 5, so I'll be sure to upload a new comic or something before I leave Then again I sort of disappear from DeviantArt a lot, so it won't make much of a difference

Put simply: Yes, I will be attending London MCM Expo in May. And apparently, I guess that's it this year.

I did sign up for AKON in Texas (also to meet up with an old friend who lives there), but that cut into the MCM schedule. Since I signed up for MCM first, I couldn't work around AKON.
Earlier this year, I also signed up for Artist Alley in AX (Anime Expo, Los Angeles) which is 30 minutes away from where I live... But they put me on waitlist so I'm guessing that is not going to go through ; I mean, I'm still on the waitlist, but I know chances are slim.

Yeah, I'm not really good with things like this I'm the kind of person who is really indecisive until nearly the last minute. Then again, having a job and not knowing what your work schedule will be like (or if they will allow the vacation days) is sort of a hold-back as well.

So I'm sorry in advance for being terrible at organizing things like this and again, not showing up to any conventions within my own country

Unlike our prior interviews, this will not be a "direct interview" per-say. Instead, this will be a live panel, which means that the artists won't be taking any questions directly from fans in this one. Second, I know I went missing for about two months but I'm hoping that things will start slowing down again so I can work on comics and other art-related things. I have a bunch of @TM Comics lined up since... 4 months ago... and I'm hoping to actually work on them soon (Along with StupidFox, of course). But mainly during these past two months, I've been doing a lot of sketching and going back on working with old mediums.

Warning: This is a Beginning of a Rant

Recently, I've realized that I do not have as much time to work on art as I did one year ago. And I look back to previous projects that I had done several years ago and I remember being able to stay in one place for 6 hours straight working on one project. Of course, that was when I was in school and I had a lot of free hours. However, now I work 8-10 hours a day doing office work that is not as much art-related. (To clarify, it is not that I dislike my office job, but I would prefer not having to work and just sit at home and draw whatever I want ) But of course, this also means I may not be updating as "regularly" on DeviantArt, since I won't have as much to show.

People have asked me why I don't pursue drawing as a career so that I can be doing something I enjoy, but I never saw myself in a "professional" position with being an artist. Even though I only have about 2-3 hours a day to draw, it is something I look forward to after a long day of work. Personally, I prefer that rather than looking at drawing as a part of a job or a chore. I enjoy drawing for drawing, I like seeing other people's work to learn from them bit by bit, and I enjoy telling stories and so I draw them out as comics (because I am terrible at writing, if you couldn't tell already, haha). What I don't like is only having that 2-3 hour time gap to draw, but what can I do ?  

To people who are still reading this, I hope you all keep doing what you love whether it is just as a hobby or as your job. And, (while we're on the topic), to artists struggling to decide whether they should continue drawing or not because they "don't have a large audience on DeviantArt" or that they're not "good enough"... ask yourself if you are drawing because you enjoy it or because you just expect a lot of public attention. I know that in my position it's "easy for me to say", but I still remember when I thought 10 faves was a lot and meant a lot to me, and now the numbers are just meaningless statistics. In any case, remember that your greatest audience will always be your friends, family, and most importantly, yourself. Make time for your hobbies, don't turn your hobby into some kind of competition (unless it calls for it), and don't stop doing what you really enjoy

StupidFox is Hibernating! The comic will return next year! (As in January, 2013, not an entire year ) However, the StupidFox Store will remain open, and I will continue to upload other works.

I am ready to eats lots and devour a turkey. Actually, I'm not much of a fan of turkey. I go for all the deserts first I always look forward to the seasonal foods during the end of the year. But one thing I will always dislike is having to wake up to a cold room and foggy, sleepy weather.

In other news, I apparently messed up my hands a few days ago and I'm not able to draw. Or, at least draw "correctly" I hope my hand will heal up by the time I get to the convention so I can draw some sketch cards

Meanwhile, our family dog, Ginkgo, is staying with me for two weeks while my parents are on vacation. He's super sad that mommy is gone (and forgot to bring his toys), so I gave him an old/broken StupidFox Plush. he enjoys carrying it around and chewing on it (surprisingly very durable so far considering he has destroyed every other dog-toy we've given him), but he mostly likes to use it as a pillow.



PS. For those of you with a StupidFox Plush, I do not suggest letting your pets play with it because it's not a real dog-toy We watch him very closely when he plays with it and make sure he doesn't actually try to eat it.

London MCM Expo 2012
As for how MCM Expo went, it was an amazing experience! And because of the great turnout, chances are, I will be returning to MCM in October 26 - 28 as well It was great being able to meet many of you (and seeing a bunch of unique and creative cosplays!) A few of you left me your DeviantArt names, but the notepad they were written down on went missing (though probably in luggage somewhere), so I am sorry if I was not able to get back to you but please feel free to send me a note/message anytime.

DO NOT just snap a picture of your-masked-self or a StupidFox Plush standing idly in front of a landmark. Entries like this will be added to the collection, but only the ones with some creativity or thought will be considered for judging.

DO NOT use any Digital, Photoshop or (Built-in) Camera Filters, effects, airbrushing, drawings-over-photo, or sparkles.

YOU MAY use Programs/Photoshop to alter lighting/contrast/levels, censor logos, censor faces, clean up images, minor touch-ups.

DO NOT Digitally add or Photoshop a StupidFox into any photo in any way. You must take a picture of StupidFox ( or yourself) at the actual landmark. Photoshopped images will automatically be shredded by beavers.

Landmark must be an actual place. No imaginary Kingdom of Bunnies.

YOU MAY add other foxes/accessories/animals/etc in the picture-- as long as StupidFox and the Landmark are still clearly in view. The mask CANNOT be modified in any way, but your outfit can be!

Theme Parks or Fairgrounds do not count as landmarks (Due to Copyrights). The same goes for restaurants/malls/parking lots/your creepy neighbor's house/etc. Convention Centers are okay; just put a link to an official website or wikipedia article

Schools/University Locations do not count as landmarks in this contest. (Due to Privacy).

Community Market Places / Tourist Towns / Small Towns / Tourist Attractions / National Parks / Community Farms or Ranches are OK as long as they are not PRIVATELY OWNED by someone (this includes anything owned by yourself or your family). It would be best if there were a town center or something significant in the specific town that you can represent in your photo. It's that time again! The Third StupidFox contest, "StupidFox Around the World" is now up!  (Restrictions/Rules will be updated as questions/answers come along)



BREAKDOWN

Deadline: August 31, 2011
Location: Contest is open worldwide! Prizes can be shipped internationally!

Contest Summary: Take a picture of StupidFox (Plush or yourself/a friend in a mask) by a famous landmark near you or while on vacation (For example, Hollywood Sign, Famous Statues, Your Town's Tourist Attraction/Sightseeing spot, Niagara Falls-- without throwing fox over the falls-- etc, etc.)

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Official StupidFox Plush (OR) Official, unaltered Print-Out Masks: [link] / [link]
Required Equipment: Camera, Camera Phone, Webcam (Any Camera), Printer (Optional for Printing Masks) and Something to Upload the Photo.

ENTRY RULES - How to Send in your Entry
  1 >> Upload your entry to DeviantArt and place the photo under "Scrap" category.
  2 >> In the Artist Description, let us know the name/location of the Landmark.
  3 >> PLEASE include a link to googlemaps to pin-point the landmark (OR) Link to an official site of the landmark (OR) Link to an Article about the place. This must be done even if it's a famous/well-known landmark or monument.
  4 >> Put a link to the contest entry or www.stupidfox.net for reference.

RESTRICTIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY -  Last Updated July 19, 2011 @ 11:00AM PST Updates signified with

Limit TWO entries per person. No collages of photos into one image. If submitting two entries, they must be uploaded separately.

Limit ONE landmark spot only (Please explain landmark under Artist Description).

NO CRAFTS/ARTWORK -- You MUST either use the official, unaltered print-out mask(s) or the Official StupidFox Plush (If you have one), OR note me for clarification or if you want to try/suggest something else. *I know the masks say you can draw a mouth on it; but this will not be allowed for this particular contest. You can alter the size though.

*Hint: YOU MAY use the StupidFox mask in any way as long as it is in the photo as a main subject (aside from the landmark). But you may NOT draw your own mask or draw on the official mask in any way.

Closeups of landmarks are OK. (For example, if it is a large tower that will not fit in the entire photo while showing StupidFox, you may crop the landmark to one section. As long as we can still tell what/where it is )  -- Consider your composition.

DO NOT just snap a picture of your-masked-self or a StupidFox Plush standing idly in front of a landmark. Entries like this will be added to the collection, but only the ones with some creativity or thought will be considered for judging.

DO NOT use any Digital, Photoshop or (Built-in) Camera Filters, effects, airbrushing, drawings-over-photo, or sparkles.

YOU MAY use Programs/Photoshop to alter lighting/contrast/levels, censor logos, censor faces, clean up images, minor touch-ups.

DO NOT Digitally add or Photoshop a StupidFox into any photo in any way. You must take a picture of StupidFox ( or yourself) at the actual landmark. Photoshopped images will automatically be shredded by beavers.

Landmark must be an actual place. No imaginary Kingdom of Bunnies.

YOU MAY add other foxes/accessories/animals/etc in the picture-- as long as StupidFox and the Landmark are still clearly in view. The mask CANNOT be modified in any way, but your outfit can be!

Theme Parks or Fairgrounds do not count as landmarks (Due to Copyrights). The same goes for restaurants/malls/parking lots/your creepy neighbor's house/etc. Convention Centers are okay; just put a link to an official website or wikipedia article

Schools/University Locations do not count as landmarks in this contest. (Due to Privacy).

Community Market Places / Tourist Towns / Small Towns / Tourist Attractions / National Parks / Community Farms or Ranches are OK as long as they are not PRIVATELY OWNED by someone (this includes anything owned by yourself or your family). It would be best if there were a town center or something significant in the specific town that you can represent in your photo. In this case, please also include a third-party Article/Official Website/Google Map to the location. (Examples: Dursley, Solvang, Citywalk/Hollywood, Lake Michigan, etc) If unsure, please note me with the name of the location and link.

PLEASE DO NOT go to any dangerous places/locations or put yourself in dangerous situations. StupidFox isn't the most reliable hero.

What if you don't live next to any famous landmarks?
Any "Tourist Infested Area" works! You can look up your hometown on the internet and see if there are any Tourist/Travel Spots near you.
When uploading, you can write a short description describing the landmark or what it represents. You can also add a link to any information page or Wikipedia article.

You may enter any previously taken photos if you already took a picture of StupidFox by a landmark/tourist spot/famous statue or artwork.
You may enter the contest if the area has been done before

JUDGING - Because this is a contest, afterall~
NOTE: Number of winners will go up depending on how many people join the contest. Journal will be updated when cap is reached.
There will be a total of 2 Grand Prize Winners, 3 Finalist Winners, and 3 Runner-Up Winners Number of Prizes will go up with number of entries.
Judging will be based on the following, in order from most considerable: Creativity, Photographic Composition (Angle/Clarity), Concept, and Subject Matter (if applicable).
