Yay~ Happy Birthday to Matt (Mail Jeevas) 1990.2.1 ... Which was yesterday >_>; ....*woops* If I draw this guy one more time I think I'm going to explode my brains out. I did this one a while ago; I didn't want to upload it ._.; Eh. After this one I think I'm taking a break for a while >_< I just #@^$ed up on this really big project I was working on and smeared the ink on it so... ugh... and I don't feel like starting it over anytime soon.
Annnnd School starts for me in a few days soooo BLAH. Whatever. I have comic ideas too... I'm just too lazy to work on them.
So enjoy this for the next like... 2 minutes or so XD
Oh annnnd he doens't have his goggles... because they broke, technically, when he... last showed up in the manga? o_O Actually, because originally I wasn't drawing Matt, I was drawing someone else and that someone else was actually a girl and then it turned into that somehow. WELL WHATEVER I just really wanted to draw wings. *makes more excuses*
Ok, obviously I am a fan of both Matt and your work However, as this is a serious issue I cannot let emotions make this biased, and I will do my best as this is also my first critique.
Ok, first, the sheer amount of work that has clearly gone into all the tiny details is staggering. All of the feathers, the fur on his clothes and even his hair have been drawn so perfectly and accurately. Even the sky behind him has a fair amount of detail put into it. I must say, however, that the background is a bit bleak and bland. That is probably the only real thing I can say I don't particularly like.
I do wonder what this would have looked like in colour, but given the context it looks far better this way. However, I do also wonder whether more effort should have been put in to add shading on Matt's hair and clothes, as the contrast between the basically flat figure of Matt himself and the extraordinary level of detail in the wings looks a bit strange.
I love this, it looks amazing! I'm not just saying this as a Mail Jeevas fangirl, but also because (like the critique below me) I can see you put MASSIVE amounts of detail into this. I know how you feel though...I start off drawing one thing and I end up doing something completely different halfway through all the time! I know why he's not wearing the goggles...because the goggles do nothing. *bad joke~* Great work~

Other than that, overall an excellent pic!
